Claire Giacomelli is an Italian basketball player, who plays as a forward and guard in the Italian Serie A1 team Akronos Moncalieri and the Italian national team.
Claire Giacomelli was born on April 21, 1998. She started playing basketball at an early age and quickly showed her skills.
Claire Giacomelli started her professional career in 2015 at Castelnuovo Scrivia in Italian Serie A2. She played for the team one season and has an average of 0.7ppg, and 1.7rpg.
In 2016, she signed with Fixi Piramis Torino to play in the Italian Serie A1. However, she was not playing regularly and has an average of 0.8ppg.
In 2017, Claire Giacomelli returned to the Italian Serie A2 and signed with Castelnuovo Scrivia. With the team, she had a great performance and for the season playing had an average of 5.2ppg and 3.5rpg.
Claire Giacomelli moved to her current club Akronos Moncalieri in 2018. In her maiden season with the team, she has 1.0ppg, 4.0rpg, and 2.0spg, while the team was playing in the Italian Serie A3. However, with her help, they were promoted to Serie A2. In 2019, she was a key figure for the team and has 5.6ppg, 3.0rpg, and 1.2spg. In 2020, Claire Giacomelli was one of the key players of the basketball team, having an average of 8.0ppg, 4.1rpg, and 1.3spg. With the team she was Italian Serie A2 Cup Semifinals and Italian Serie A2 Finalist during the season.
In 2020, she was eligible for the WNBA draft but was not drafted.
In 2021, Akronos Moncalieri was promoted to Italian Serie A1 and Claire Giacomelli returned to play in the top division of Italian basketball. She finished the season with 4.6ppg, 2.5rpg, and 1.0spg.
Claire Giacomelli was called also to play for the Italian U16 Women’s National Team.
